SHEfinancial’s Women on the Bridge
As we approach the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day on March 8, there is much for women to celebrate. From increased political representation to better economic situations and increased legal protections, women have made tremendous strides.
Our friends at SHEfinancial know that full equality, justice and peace are not yet fully realized for women whose families, communities and countries have been torn apart by unnecessary violence. On March 8th, you can stand with SHEfinancial and Master of Ceremonies, Laura-Lynn Tyler-Thompson, for security, economic opportunity and an equal voice at the peace negotiation tables for all women in our world.
SHEfinancial is one of many organizations choosing to celebrate this International Women’s Day with Women for Women International. Wives, mothers, sisters, and friends will meet on bridges and in parks in over 119 cities in 27 countries around the world to stand up for peace and an end to violence against women. Penny Deming, SHEfinancial’s Principal and Founder, is inviting you to take time out of your day to stand in the park.
The first ever, global bridge campaign in 2010 saw more than 20,000 women joining Women for Women International on bridges across 4 continents. They marched, beat drums, danced and sang. They stood together for peace and hope. And now you can be a part of making this year’s event bigger and better.
